Oh and Ollie, whatever you do as you set out on your decorating adventure, pay no regard to this article. (Okay read it, then consciously disregard it). It is just one more example of society thrusting a keeping-up-with-the-Joneses consumerist culture upon us, tying our identity to things that can be bought. Please spare us the “individuality” that can be financed.
Make your house your own. Put things in it that bring you joy. That alone will make it a favorite resting place for those lucky enough to score an invite. ; )
